Apple Cultures

Why Apple Cultures

One day while sitting down with my son and talking with him about technology and Iphone, Ipad and the Microsoft Surface.  My son mentioned something that I will never forget.   (He has wisdom beyond his years.)  My son said "Apple has affected the culture it is culturally relevant". Apple changed the culture more than any company has since Microsoft did in the 1990's.  Apple does not have the world's market share but it has the greatest culture share. Most new technologies do not have long duration because they don't change the culture in which we live.   Steve Jobs is no longer living, but his goal of changing the world and culture has come past fruition.  No matter how many commercials Microsoft  produces maligning the Ipad, it will not change the culture. (I despise this commercial because it is misleading in many way and it is a feeble attempt to market a product. This commercial is like a looser politician whose stock fell and now saying anything to get elected.  Samsung and Sony have not attempted this foolishness.

The Surface is not a new product but and offspring of this original.  It can do some things that the I-pad cannot do because its thickness and USB capability.  The I-pad can wirelessly connect a keyboard and you can connect one to its charging dock.  The user can print documents wirelessly and it has applications that allows you to use office programs.  It does not need a USB.

The Microsoft Surface is a thick bland tablet with Windows 8, that has all types of problems and glitches.  It feels quiet gets warm to the touch and the materials feel cheap.   The I-pad is a synergy of technology and art. The I-pad will last twice as long and may never have any type of virus or malware.

Ideas change the world.  Ideas change cultures. Fine quality products change the culture.  Just like the iron age changed the world and those that manipulated iron could rule their culture, technology changed our culture forever.  Microsoft experienced this in its glory days in the 1990's and caused a technological revolution and changed our culture with its Windows OS.  They can do so again with new ideas, not these type of commercials.  The Xbox One is a good example of a technology that can change culture.

Computers were put in the hands of the average citizen and the internet was made available to the world.  Apple was right behind them with the Macintosh computers and its OS. (IBM was the biggest looser) Apple did not focus on OS alone as much as creating great products using its OS.   Furthermore, many companies developed or paid for apps to be developed for it particular business.  Software developers started creating apps and games at an amazing pace.  Apple has connected to almost every facet of our culture.  Carrying my Ipad keeps me business ready because it is part of my life.  This commercial show how to sell a product; by showing how good it is, not by maligning the others.

This is purpose and thrust of this blog is to look at the many facets of our culture, which has become, an Apple Culture.
